Overview of the Refillable Precision Application System
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly cleaning build surfaces and applying HYPERLOK® adhesive for optimal 3D printing results.
- ⚠️Clean with plate removed from machine - do NOT spray cleaner inside machines!
- ⚠️Ensure plate is COOL - do NOT apply when HOT!
- ⚠️Make sure Z-Offset is properly calibrated!
Cleaning the Build Surface
Materials Needed
- 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol/Water solution
- Spray bottle
- Microfiber or dust-free towels
Steps
- Prepare cleaning solution: Mix 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol/H₂O solution in a spray bottle
- Apply solution: Spray onto build plate with microfiber or dust-free towel
- Let soak: Allow solution to sit for 10 seconds
- Wipe clean: Remove solution completely
- Repeat process: Apply solution again and wipe with new towel or clean side
- Visual inspection: Verify plate is completely clean before proceeding
Applying HYPERLOK®
Prepare applicator: Shake the refillable applicator bottle well, then remove lid
Prime the tip (first use only): Press down until tip is soaked. The wide tip will require about 1/4 of the bottle. Replacement tips are available for purchase.
Apply HYPERLOK®: Push tip firmly against buildplate with light pumping action while moving around print area
Create pattern: Distribute HYPERLOK® in a hatch/grid pattern until evenly applied
Drying time: Let dry for approximately 3 minutes before heating the bed
Print with confidence: Your parts will be securely adhered to the surface
Troubleshooting Adhesion Issues
If you experience adhesion problems, try these adjustments:
- Lower Z-Offset by -0.02mm increments
- Increase bed temperature by 10°C increments
- Increase first layer temperature by 5°C increments
Part Removal Guidelines
For bed temperatures 100°C or less:
Let parts cool fully in the build chamber before removing
For bed temperatures 120°C or more:
Let parts cool partially in the build chamber and remove while warm
Maintenance Tips
- Clean fully between coats - layering coats will NOT increase adhesion
- Each surface application will last multiple prints
- Refill applicator when fluid level reaches the "Refill soon" marking on side gauge
